Making Time For Your Family and a New Internet Home Business

One of the first things I learned early on in my internet marketing career is that it’s very easy, and I mean very easy, to get so caught up in your work that you lose spending quality time with the people that mean the most to you––your family and friends.

It seems a bit odd that the reason you start a work at home business is so you can spend more time with the people you love, not less. But as you can imagine, there are so many things to be done when you’re first starting out, it’s easy to fall into that trap.

Last year, I wrote an article on this particular subject. I hope you take a few minutes to read it and follow the tips inside…

Making Time For Your Family and a New Internet Home Business

Starting your own internet home business can be a very fulfilling experience. It offers many new and exciting challenges, with the hopes of providing financial security for you and your family. To this end, a home business also requires a serious commitment and can easily consume a large portion of your time if you don’t plan properly.

While searching the internet for business opportunities, you’ve undoubtedly encountered claims of how working only a few hours per week can result in a successful home business. Although it is true that after your business is established you could potentially devote less time towards it, this is not normally the case in the beginning.

If you’re new to internet marketing or the home business industry, you should initially plan on spending at least 2-3 hours per day researching your products and developing your website. You should try committing even more time if you’re not working a day job or have other obligations prohibiting you from doing so.

Believe it or not, one trap to avoid is spending too much time on your business It’s very easy to become immersed in your business because there is always something to do–a new product to review, updating your website, responding to emails, etc. Before you know it, you won’t have time for anything else.

This can be especially problematic when you have a family. For many of us, the benefit of spending more quality time with our family was the reason we started our home business to begin with! Because so many new home business owners struggle between spending time with their families while trying to get their business off the ground, I offer the following tips.

1. Take one entire day off per week. Yes, this means NO WORK. Spend time with your family and friends and as far away from your business as possible. Believe me, the business won’t go anywhere. Plus, the day off will help to alleviate burn out. If you’ve worked more hours than usual in a particular week, take two days off.

2. Set aside 1-2 hours every evening for family time. From 5:30-7:00, for example, you could have dinner with the family, help the kids with their homework and squeeze in time for walking the dog. If possible, try to choose this same time everyday. A structured schedule will allow you to better plan your time.

3. Stop working at a specific time every evening and stick to it. For example, you can turn off your computer every night at 10:00 p.m. You can use this time to catch up on the news and tend to other personal matters. This is also your time to relax and unwind from a hard day’s work.

Learning to manage your time is critical to a successful business and living a full and happy life. There’s nothing wrong with being dedicated to your business, but your family should be your first commitment. Make time for your spouse, children, parents and friends now, because before you know it, you’ll be wondering where the time went.

The Private Label Rights eBook Store

I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year!  I’m sure 2007 will be another great year for internet marketing.  And remember, it’s never too late to get started, but you have to put in the time and effort if you want to run a serious and profitable home business.

Last week, I mentioned a new project I was working on that dealt with the very popular subject of Private Label Rights.  With Private Label Rights (or PLR) products, you have an opportunity to begin making money in a short period of time.  Plus, you have the opportunity of putting your name on the product as if you created it yourself.

I just started developing a brand new website that will offer PLR products at a discounted price. The products on this site will be high quality and can be personally used by the buyer, along with having the Private Label Rights or Resell Rights to that product. And, like I mentioned earlier, the price will be at a deep discount.  Heck, I even have a price guarantee!

Although it’s in its infancy, you can find the new site at http://www.plrebookstore.com.  You can sign up from the site to receive updates when new products are added, plus I’ll be providing updates on our blog as the site progresses.

Private Label Rights - PLR eBooks and Other Products

First, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I spent the weekend and past few days celebrating Christmas with my family. It was a nice break from the normal routine, but like many home business owners, I did manage to check my emails and yes, actually did a little bit of work.

Before I go into what I was working on, one of the subjects that has really taken off recently are Private Label Rights products, or PLR products. The trend really started to pick up steam earlier this year, and now you can find PLR eBooks, articles and software all over the internet.

I personally love PLR products! What makes these products so great is that anyone (and yes, anyone) can purchase a PLR product and begin making money within a short period of time. Many of these products allow you to put your name as the author–as if you created it, and will even include a sales page and thank you page.

You simply modify the files where needed, upload them to your server and you’re ready to begin promoting! Of course, promoting will take a little work, but how much simpler  can it get to have a product that’s in your name? :)

Since I believe Private Label Rights are a great resource for both new and existing home businesses, my most recent project deals directly with this subject. Since I’m still in the early stages of development, I’m not going to reveal what I’m working on just yet, but will be letting you know within the next couple days…

MPAM Payout

Today, MPAM paid out for the month of October and posted the returns for November.

For October, each $25.00 purchase made $35.18 - $2.81 (admin fee) = $32.37.  This comes out to 129% return!  In other words, each share made $7.37.  If you would have purchased 10 shares, you’d be ahead $74 right now for doing….. NOTHING!

In November, each $25.00 purchase made $34.02 - $2.72 (admin fee) = $31.30 (or 125%).  So, next month I get to look forward to a profit of $6.30 for each share I purchased — not too shabby.

I know I’ve already mentioned that I haven’t found any other home business program that offers such a unique and easy way to make money.  Believe me, the sooner you sign up, the sooner you can start learning and earning

Generate Income From Your Website

If you own a website, there a many ways to monetize the site to bring in some additional income.  In today’s market, one of the most popular ways to do this is with Google Adsense.  There are also other programs similar to Adsense, but by no means should this be your only means to generate that extra income.

Below is an article I wrote on the subject.  I hope you implement at least one of the suggestions.

*************************************************************

Seven Ways to Generate Income From Your Website

If you own your own website, there are a variety of things you can do to generate extra income for yourself. To enjoy the most success for your efforts, you must take into consideration your existing website content, as well as your particular target audience. You will also want to know the approximate number of visitors you regularly receive to your website.

Once you have this information, you can decide which idea (or ideas) will apply best to you:

1. Include Google Adsense on your web pages. Google delivers text and image ads that are targeted to your site and its content. When people click on an ad, you will receive a portion of the amount paid to Google by the advertiser. On average, you can expect to receive anywhere between 2 cents to a dollar per click, depending on the keyword.

2. Make money selling other people’s products and services through affiliate programs. Each program you register for should provide you with an affiliate link to track your referrals. Depending on the program, you will normally be paid on a per sale basis or for each sign-up you generate.

3. Sell advertising space on your web site. You could sell banner and/or classified ads. If you want to make additional money, sell sponsor ads and place them is a special section or towards the top of your website for the most exposure.

4. If you have enough web space available on your server, you could rent web pages to other people. You could also give the web pages away for free, but include your banner or advertisement on them to generate income for yourself.

5. Charge people a fee to access a dedicated part of your website. People will pay you money for your website content if it’s valuable to them. The content can be ebooks, reports, software, etc.

6. Sell your own products or services. Of course, they should be related to your target audience. You will also want the ability to securely accept credit card payments directly from your website. Other forms of payment such as PayPal, ClickBank, etc. is also preferred. Delivery of your product should be as fast as possible.

7. Publish an e-zine from your website. Have people subscribe to the e-zine right from your web site. In addition to direct sales of products or services you are promoting, you could sell classified or sponsor advertising inside your e-zine.

Each of these ideas will generate income, but if you are a new website owner, I recommend starting with Google Adsense. These ads continue to grow in popularity and are easy to customize and install on your web pages–simply copy and paste a block of HTML.

For new internet home business entrepreneurs, in addition to Google Ads, you should also consider affiliate programs. Most affiliate programs are free to join and usually offer marketing tools and resources that are readily available for your use.
